RN21 presented as a major opportunity for the resin sector

Figueira da Foz, 10 October 2023 (SAPO 24) – SAPO 24 published the Lusa news agency report on the presentation of the RN21 Integrated Project at the United Resins facilities in Figueira da Foz, which included a speech by the Minister for the Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordeiro.

An opportunity on an Iberian scale

Carlos Fonseca, executive director of CoLAB ForestWISE, described RN21 as the great opportunity for the resin sector in Portugal, extending to Spain, given the need for an Iberian scale. The project involves 37 entities, an investment of more than 26 million euros and a grant of 17.5 million euros.

A stronger voice for the sector

By the end of the project, in 2025, Carlos Fonseca hopes the consortium can evolve into a cluster or interest group able to influence public policy and give the sector the cross-cutting representation it currently lacks.
