Figueira da Foz, 27 September 2023 (United Resins) – United Resins announced that its facilities in Figueira da Foz will host, on 10 October, the first public presentation of the RN21 Integrated Project – Innovation in the Natural Resin Value Chain to Strengthen the National Bioeconomy.

A sector united in a single consortium

Coordinated by CoLAB ForestWISE, RN21 brings the Portuguese Natural Resin sector together for the first time in an integrated research and innovation consortium. The goal is to modernise and revitalise one of the country’s most traditional economic activities, promote Natural Resin as a bio-based product and broaden its market applications.

The session will be attended by the Minister for the Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordeiro. The project is funded by the PRR under Component 12 – Promotion of the Sustainable Bioeconomy.

A second-processing company

A consortium partner, United Resins works in the second processing of Natural Resin, developing gum rosin derivatives for high-performance industrial applications.
