Oleiros, 23 November 2023 (Visão) – Visão reported, based on the Lusa news agency, that the first phase of resin tapping tests in a pine stand in Isna, Oleiros, achieved results above the national average.
A campaign from April to November
The first assessment of the campaign, which ran from April to early November, shows that each pine tapped by traditional methods produced around two kilos of resin, above the national average of one and a half kilos per tap in the first year. Marco Ribeiro, from Resipinus, expects even better results in the second campaign.
A forest that generates income
For the Mayor of Oleiros, Miguel Marques, the results confirm the potential of the municipality’s pine forest and represent both a challenge and an opportunity for the forest to generate income again.
