Chaves, 8 May 2026 (Recuperar Portugal) – The Recuperar Portugal Mission Structure highlighted the address by its President, Fernando Alfaiate, at IN.RESIN, the final event of the RN21 Integrated Project, in Chaves.

A structuring project for the bioeconomy

Funded under Component 12 – Sustainable Bioeconomy of the PRR, RN21 brought together 37 entities from industry, science and public administration, coordinated by CoLAB ForestWISE, in a structuring initiative for innovation in the Natural Resin value chain.

Implementation continues until the end of 2026

Fernando Alfaiate clarified that consortia may continue to carry out approved activities, under the terms of their financing contracts, until 31 December 2026. For the bioeconomy investment, Target 12.3 requires a positive assessment by the Portuguese Environment Agency of the final reports on 10 products and 5 industrial pilot processes; once this target is met, projects may continue their physical and financial implementation until the end of the year.
