Pampilhosa da Serra, 27 January 2025 (Agência Lusa) – The Lusa news agency spoke to sector stakeholders at Resinae Ignite, the RN21 Integrated Project meeting in Pampilhosa da Serra, where Resipinus argued that Portugal could double the value generated by the resin sector.

A sector that could be worth twice as much

Marco Ribeiro, president of Resipinus, estimates that the resin sector generates around 250 million euros a year and that this figure could double within two or three years, provided there is enough raw material. That requires tapping more pine forest: only 20,000 to 25,000 hectares are currently tapped, out of an estimated 600,000 to 700,000 hectares.

The meeting in Pampilhosa da Serra also marked the launch of the Resinae® brand.
