Isna resin tapping trials part of a testing network across five territories

Isna, Oleiros, 24 November 2023 (Aldeias do Xisto) – The Aldeias do Xisto network shared the results of the first phase of the resin tapping trials in a pine stand in Isna, Oleiros, which exceeded expectations.

Trials in five territories

Besides Isna, trials are under way in pine stands in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Nazaré, Cantanhede and Amareleja, in an effort to assess resin tapping under different climate and forest conditions.

For territories such as those in the Aldeias do Xisto network, resin tapping can be a new source of income and a way of keeping the forest managed and protected.
