Figueira da Foz, 10 October 2023 (Observador) – Observador published the Lusa news agency report on the presentation of the RN21 Integrated Project in Figueira da Foz, where the Minister for the Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordeiro, called for a more efficient use of resources and lower consumption.
Innovation and sustainability as an essential pairing
At the session, held at the United Resins facilities, the minister advocated moving from an extract-consume-discard model to one that regenerates resources, building circular economy principles into everyday life. According to Duarte Cordeiro, RN21 helps reduce the use of fossil-based raw materials and favours bio-based, higher-value products, indirectly increasing the economic value of Portuguese forests.
A project for the whole value chain
With an investment of more than 26 million euros, a grant of 17.5 million euros and 37 entities involved, RN21 rests on three pillars: boosting national Natural Resin production, strengthening the sustainability of the processing industry and positively differentiating Natural Resin and its derivatives.
