Pampilhosa da Serra, 28 January 2025 (Rádio Regional Centro) – Rádio Regional Centro reported on Resinae Ignite, promoted by the RN21 Integrated Project, which examined the various links in the Natural Resin value chain in Pampilhosa da Serra.
The economic sustainability of resin tapping
One of the topics under debate was the economic viability of the activity. Rogério Rodrigues, Director of the RN21 Project, Joana Vieira, from CoLAB ForestWISE, and Miguel Freitas, from the University of the Algarve, discussed extraction costs, the value of the raw material and the conditions needed to attract new resin tappers.
An Iberian perspective
The participation of Javier Calvo, from the Spanish technology centre Cesefor, brought the experience of resin tapping in Spain, reinforcing the Iberian dimension of a sector that shares challenges and markets. The meeting closed with the presentation of the Resinae® brand.
