27 November 2025 (Visão) – Visão published the article “A better world with Natural Resin”, dedicated to the versatility of Portuguese Natural Resin and to the innovation driven by the RN21 Integrated Project, coordinated by CoLAB ForestWISE.
New bio-based products
Extracted mainly from maritime pine in the North and Centre of Portugal, Natural Resin is the source of dozens of industrial products that replace fossil alternatives: films for food packaging and biopolymers for crop protection, injection-moulded components for car interiors, soles, glues and adhesives for footwear, fibres, natural mordants and synthetic leathers for textiles, as well as traditional applications in paints, varnishes, rubbers, waxes and perfumery.
RN21 results
The project developed biopolymers incorporating between 5% and 30% Natural Resin derivatives, along with other higher-value solutions. The Resinae® brand stands as a symbol of this commitment, promoting the quality, traceability and sustainability of maritime pine resin-derived products.
